Message from the Interim Executive Officer – Julia Andrews

Julia Andrews RDA Central WestWelcome to the latest RDA Central West e-newsletter – ‘tis the season for grant funding applications!

Many of you will be aware that the NSW Government has announced a raft of new funding opportunities within the Regional Growth Fund. There are six individual infrastructure-focussed funds under this banner, including:

Connecting Country Communities Fund – for communications infrastructure and data capability
Growing Local Economies – for infrastructure to enable job creation
Regional Sports Infrastructure – for new and existing venues to improve participation in sports
Resources for Regions – for infrastructure in mining affected communities to support job creation and economic growth
Regional Cultural Fund – for arts, cultural and tourism projects
Stronger Countries Communities Fund – for upgrades to community facilities (applications must be from Councils)

It can be confusing, trying to work out which fund/s represent the best opportunity for your organisation or business. Furthermore, these funds have all been launched at once and have tight deadlines for applications over the next six months. But please don’t let that discourage you – RDA Central West is here to help you navigate these funding opportunities!

Please take a look at our News, Events & Grants page  (add link here) or call us on 6369 1600 for help. You may also like to download our free Guide to Successful Grant Writing here.

The Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) Round 1 is also expected to be announced soon. While Round 2 has not yet opened, organisations will need to be ready to take advantage of this funding opportunity when it opens and is separated into two streams:

  1. Infrastructure Projects Stream
  2. Community Investments Stream

Please go to the BBRF page on our website for more information and don’t hesitate to call our staff if you have any questions.

Remember, RDA Central West is here to help identify potential grants and funding opportunities for you, so please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

Finally, a quick plug for the Agribusiness Today Forum which this year will be held in Orange on 10-11 August. This is an unmissable event for regional agribusinesses with a sheep focus, so please don’t forget to register here
